Apple Watch 3 – Can I use 4G in Romania too?

Apple Watch 3 will have a 4G function that will allow you to use the Internet and make calls without the help of an iPhone, but in Romania it will be unavailable at first.

Watch Apple 3 has as a central novelty 4G LTE connectivity that Apple has implemented in the watch to give it independence from iPhone for a variety of functions. Apple Watch 3 has an integrated eSIM card, that is, an electronic SIM which is actually a special chip that contains information that allows the smart watch to connect to some mobile phone networks on the planet.

Apple Watch 3 basically has a chip welded to the motherboard that replaces a standard SIM card, this one having much smaller dimensions, but offering the same functions. Apple chose this eSIM solution in order not to increase the dimensions of the Apple Watch 3, but this comes with a series of limitations regarding the watch's compatibility with the mobile networks on the planet, and below you can see why.

Apple Watch 3 - will not have the 4G function active in Romania from launch

Apple Watch 3 will be able to be used anywhere on the planet, but 4G connectivity will only be available for a limited number of mobile phone operators in 8 countries. The USA, Canada, Australia, China, Japan, Great Britain, Germany and France are the countries where Apple has collaborated with some mobile phone operators to bring support for the Apple Watch 3, in the rest of the countries the watch cannot be used with the 4G function.

Apple Watch 3 in these countries will have special subscriptions with operators, which vary between 5 pounds and 10 dollars, which will allow it to work in tandem with the telephony subscription of an iPhone. Apple Watch 3 will take over from there the necessary internet to work, against a monthly cost, but until operators in Romania have support for the watch, you will not be able to use the 4G function in our country either.
