iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have the capacities of the new batteries confirmed by a mobile phone operator, this after the TENAA authorities provided a similar confirmation yesterday. Unlike those from TENAA, this operator, also from China, announces different specifications for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus batteries, and this quite strangely because the specifications should have been identical, regardless of the source of the information.
iPhone 8, according to the China Telecom mobile phone operator, has a battery whose capacity is 2150 mAh and not a little over 1865 mAh, as we learned from TENAA. We are basically talking about a difference of 300 mAh between the two specifications for the iPhone 8 battery, and it is almost 20%, so we could also talk about a considerable difference in terms of the autonomy offered.
The iPhone 8 clearly has a smaller battery than the one offered in the iPhone 8 Plus, but the difference from 1865 mAh to 2150 mAh is a considerable one. Basically, here the entities from China seem to be almost in agreement regarding the battery capacity, so there must be a mistake in the specification for the iPhone 8, but for now we don't know where it comes from and what the total capacity is in the end.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will anyway offer less autonomy than the iPhone 7 series, and in this idea, I think that the specifications from TENAA are real regarding the capacity of the iPhone 8 battery. It would be illogical to see that the iPhone 8 has a bigger battery than that of the iPhone 7, but it offers less autonomy, so I would give more credence to the authorities for iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus certification than to the operator.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus come with a disappointment on the autonomy side, and no one really expected that, because Apple usually increases the autonomy of its phones.
