Vodafone – 1 Gbps Internet via Fiber Optic

Vodafone is launching a fixed internet service with speeds of up to 1 Gbps via fiber optic, the operator initially offering it exclusively for companies in Romania.

Vodafone announced today the launch of a fixed internet service via fiber optic whose internet browsing speeds reach up to 1 Gbps, it being dedicated for now only to companies. Vodafone is practically behind Orange and Telekom with this new service, the Romanian operator finally offering fixed internet services and how could it start better than with one of 1 Gbps, the highest speed offered by all competitors.

Vodafone offers complete services for companies that want to enjoy the high-speed internet offer via fiber optic, ensuring installation and free non-stop support. Unlike other offers on the market, those from Vodafone claim that the speed of 1 Gbps for the Internet can be reached both in upload, without paying a higher price for a dedicated line, as normally required by Internet service providers .

Vodafone assures its clients that Internet speeds up to 1 Gbps can be reached regardless of the degree of network load, but the key phrase here is "up to". In practice, speeds can be as high as 100 Mbps for companies, those from Vodafone only offering the guarantee that they can reach up to 1 Gbps, but without a lower limit, but in general the theoretical speeds for fixed internet are high, depending on the location in which the connection is made.

Vodafone offers these services in all the municipalities of the county seat and in several dozen other cities, at the same time providing non-stop intervention teams to solve technical problems. Vodafone claims that it can offer internet up to 1 Gbps, including in areas bordering cities, where normally neither RDS nor UPC offer good speeds, so it will be interesting to see if they can keep their word.

Vodafone claims that these services are perfect for any type of company, regardless of their size, but also that they can come with a backup connection via 4G+. Basically, Vodafone enters the fixed internet market with an interesting offer, the price of which is communicated upon request, so it remains for each company to be contacted by the operator's sales agents to find out the offer.

Vodafone does not say through which infrastructure it offers these fixed internet services of up to 1 Gbps, but if I had to give my opinion, I would say that everything is part of an agreement with RCS & RDS. There was a lot of speculation about a collaboration between the two companies for Vodafone to launch fixed internet services, and now they are available and there will certainly be people interested in them, if the price is right.
