Apple Watch - How many units were sold in Q3 2017?

Apple Watch had a T3 2017 full of extremely good sales, the Apple company enjoying an excellent evolution for its smart watch.

Apple Watch had a very good Q3 2017, according to the Apple company, stating that product sales increased by 50% compared to the same period last year. We are talking about an impressive achievement for those from Cupertino, but now we also know an estimate regarding these sales, because Apple does not officially publish figures.

According to Canalys, Apple Watch would have recorded sales of 3.9 million units in Q3 2017, and 800.000 of these would be only the 4G version launched in September. Yes, you read that right, Apple Watch 3 4G, which is also available in Romania in this page only in the Wi-Fi version, it sold extremely well, accounting for over 20% of total sales.

Apple Watch 3 4G is available in less than 10 countries, so sales are surprisingly high, demand will increase seriously after the launch in other markets. Apple Watch is the best-selling smartwatch since the fiscal quarter following its launch, i.e. from T2 2015, but it is also one of the best-selling wearables at the moment.

Analysts place Apple Watch in the top of the best-selling wearables in Q3 2015, but it's hard to say how right they are, especially since the difference compared to Xiaomi and Fibit is small. I would say that Apple is very close to surpassing Xiaomi and Fitbit in the sales of wearables, but I don't think that it has surpassed any of the two companies for now.

The interesting part is that Samsung and Huawei have such small sales that they barely fit in the top.

"Apple retook the lead in the wearable band market in Q3 2017, with shipments of 3.9 million. It posted its strongest quarter so far in 2017, thanks to the release of the Apple Watch Series 3. Xiaomi and Fitbit, which shipped 3.6 million and 3.5 million wearable bands respectively"
