If you think that the already famous fights for pans at 2 lei in hypermarkets in Romania are hard to imagine in other countries, well, look at the clip below. Switch, a reseller of Apple products in Malaysia, announced that it is organizing a limited promotion with Apple products sold at prices of nothing, because they were the ones displayed and used by visitors in the stores.

Switch did not say what stocks it has and did not prepare for 11.000 people to invade the mall where the store where this, perhaps unique, promotion took place. All these people gathered to buy iPhone 5S for only 50 dollars, MacBook Airs for 128 dollars and old models of iMac for only 255 dollars, all of which are real bargains.

The problem with this is that Switch had about 200 products in stock for the promotion, but the 11.000 people each came with the confidence that they will catch at least one. Only 10 iPhone 5S phones at $50 were still available, and in the case of Macs, stocks were most likely just as low, although imeni did not announce this beforehand somewhere.

"Due to security reasons, [sic] we regret to inform you that the clearance sale will be put on hold until further notice. We are truly sorry for the Demo Clearance Event yesterday. We did not expect the magnitude. We were overwhelmed by the 11,000 [that] turned up," it added in a separate post.

In front of such a large number of people who gathered to buy the products, the reseller made the decision to announce the promotion because of the obvious risks for people's safety. Another date for the promotion has not been announced, but if it was not clear until now what a promotion of this kind can do, well, maybe now things are easier to understand.
