Samsung Galaxy S9: OFFICIAL, Why the function wanted by the fans is missing

The Samsung Galaxy S9 was launched by the Samsung company without a very important function that the fans of the Korean company wanted available in the smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S9 missing function

Samsung Galaxy S9 was launched this year without one of the functions that all Samsung fans would have liked to see implemented in the phone, but the Koreans' decision was in the end not to offer it. Although until now no official explanation has been offered, well here is the director of the commercial strategy division within Samsung, Mark Notton, telling the whole world why the Samsung Galaxy S9 was left without what everyone wants.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 was rumored last year to be launched with a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, the Korean company has been testing the new technology for smartphones for more than a year. Samsung tested its own implementation of a fingerprint reader in the Samsung Galaxy S9 and not one offered publicly by other companies, and in the end the decision was made not to offer it because it is not sufficiently well prepared for launch.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 does not have an in-screen fingerprint reader because the Samsung engineers decided that the function is not mature enough to provide a good user experience for customers. It seems that Samsung intensively tested prototypes of the Samsung Galaxy S9 that had a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, and after the tests the only final decision made was to move the fingerprint reader to the case, under the camera.

Samsung Galaxy S9 - here's why it doesn't have a fingerprint reader in the screen

The Samsung Galaxy S9 remains inferior to other Chinese smartphones that have fingerprint readers integrated into the screen, and the Korean company mocks them for this. Those from Samsung say that these phones do not offer a good user experience for their customers, and the Samsung Galaxy S9 is thought to offer only the best possible experience, and as a compensation the Intelligent Scan function was implemented.

"The integrated fingerprint reader underneath the display was expected on the Galaxy S9 but didn't arrive. Why? Mark explained to us that the brand, before implementing a new technology like this, prefers to test it thoroughly and be sure it is sufficiently mature. We have seen how some Chinese manufacturers are working on it but when it comes to Samsung, and in particular popular devices such as the S9, the number of units produced is high, so it needs to be perfect."

The Samsung Galaxy S9 did not have this integrated function and because Samsung was left with some fears about the problems that the Galaxy Note 7 series had after it was launched. The good part of a major problem that Samsung has gone through in the past is that it is no longer in a hurry to offer insufficiently tested functions in new phones, and customers who will buy the Samsung Galaxy S9 should enjoy this decision of the Koreans.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 will not be the last premium smartphone that the Korean company will release without an in-screen fingerprint reader, as it seems that neither Samsung Galaxy Note 9 it is not going to have it integrated. The Samsung Galaxy S9 is currently available for pre-order by the Korean company, and the official launch should take place on March 16 in markets around the world.
