Samsung Galaxy Note 9: BAD News for Fans

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has been confirmed today, bad news for fans who were looking forward to a great feature for the phone, but unfortunately they won't get it.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 BAD News

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is going to be launched during this year by the Samsung company, but unfortunately today there was bad news regarding a function extremely expected by fans all over the world. It has been said repeatedly that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be launched by the Samsung company with this extremely interesting feature, but today we find out again that it will not come, but we also find out why.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was repeatedly rumored to be launched by the Korean company with a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, but that project was stopped by Samsung. According to today's information, it seems that none of the in-screen fingerprint readers proved to be good enough for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, so the whole project has been put on hold, not being put into practice any time soon.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 had fingerprint readers from Qualcomm, Samsung LSI, Goodix, Egis and Synaptics tested, but none of them proved to be good enough for the Korean company. Samsung tested all these fingerprint readers for Samsung Galaxy Note 9 even before that Samsung Galaxy S9 to be launched on the market, but in the end it was decided that their implementation would not bring any benefit to the customers.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9: the bad news for fans

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 had problems with unlocking when films of various thicknesses were placed over the screen, and these problems were also confirmed by Vivo, which has the first smartphone with a fingerprint reader for the screen. Moreover, it seems that these fingerprint readers were not that accurate, and in certain conditions they did not work at all, so that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 would have frustrated users.

"While we previously predicted that Samsung's new flagship Galaxy Note 9, due out in 3Q18, will come equipped with an under-display fingerprint recognition function, we now believe Samsung will cancel this feature on Note 9 because both ultrasonic (provided by Qualcomm) and optical (provided by Samsung LSI, Goodix, Egis, and Synaptics) solutions cannot meet Samsung's technical requirements."

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will still have a fingerprint reader integrated in the case and will offer facial recognition with the standard Android system, but also with the iris scanner implemented in phones. The combination of these two systems will provide an advanced facial recognition system for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but it is unlikely that it will be as good as the one implemented in the iPhone X by Apple last year.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be launched in August/September by Samsung, but if it will not have a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, then it must come with other important changes. What these will be has not been revealed until now, but it is quite clear that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will have to amaze in order to generate sustained sales for Samsung, since the Samsung Galaxy S9 does not seem to be successful.
