Facebook confirmed today that the data of 110.000 Romanians were accessed by Cambridge Analytica, over the years, they are among the 87 million people whose data was accessed by the company. The disclosure comes on the day when the Facebook company also announced a special page where all people can check if their data was accessed by Cambridge Analytica to be used for various purposes.
Facebook basically tells users that if they used the application This Is Your Digital Life and offered through it access to their account, then Cambridge Analytica had access to the data from those accounts. When you will access this page you will see a message telling you that if you have used the application This Is Your Digital Life with your own Facebook account, then your data has been exploited by Cambridge Analytica, which is the sole purpose of the page.

Facebook also checks if our friends have also used the application This Is Your Digital Life and tells us if their data was exploited and if we were included in the list of friends that Cambridge Analytica saw. Basically, Facebook bases this verification only on that application and only on Cambridge Analytica, but of course there were and are many other applications on the platform that have access to the data from our profiles.
Facebook does not check for other applications that were created and are active on its platform, it does not seem to be interested in what happens beyond Cambridge Analytica, but it is good to know that many other applications had access to data. However, in the meantime you can find out if you are among the 110.000 Romanians who had their data accessed by Cambridge Analytica through Facebook, and if that happened, you can't do anything now anyway.
