The first 5G antennas are already active in Europe

The first 5G antennas have already been activated in Europe, with one of the largest mobile operators officially announcing plans for 2018.

Europe's first Active 5G Networks

The first antennas 5G have already been launched in Europe, one of the largest telecom groups in the world announcing that it already has active services in some of the markets on the continent, but not for long. We are talking about the Deutsche Telekom group, which owns the operator Telekom Romania, the company having several active 5G antennas in Europe at the moment, Berlin being one of the cities where the operator wants to place 5G antennas by the end of the summer.

Deutsche Telekom has already started the 5G network in Berlin, for now only for testing, but it also intends to install another 70 similar antennas in another 20 locations in the country by the end of the summer, perhaps including other countries in the group. Those from Deutsche Telekom intend to gradually expand the availability of 5G networks in as many locations as possible in Europe, so it is very possible to see interesting announcements made by Telekom, including for Romania.

The first 5G antennas are already active in Europe

Deutsche Telekom is, if I am not mistaken, the first mobile phone operator in Europe to announce the activation of the first 5G networks, but we should, most likely, see similar announcements made by France Telecom. Those from Orange have announced their intentions to launch 5G networks by 2020, just like Deutsche Telekom, and these should be available including in Romania, even if only tests will be done after activation.

"Deutsche Telekom announced the "first 5G antennas in Europe" are now live, as the operator updated on progress it has made towards its plans to launch the technology in 2020. Deutsche Telekom said the antennas, located in six cells across the city of Berlin , supported "the new communications standard" and were now operating in real-world conditions on its network."

The 5G networks in Europe would become active after those in the US or Asia, where things are progressing at a somewhat more alert pace, as happened with the expansion of 4G networks a few years ago. 5G technology is rapidly approaching its launch, but we will have to wait about a year and a half until we can use it, but from that point we will definitely have a completely different experience of using the mobile Internet.
