iPhone X recorded very high sales compared to Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galax S9 Plus, separately, in Q1 2018, Apple's phone being the best-selling smartphone on the planet, according to IHS. You can see in the image below their estimates for global smartphone sales in Q1 2018, and the iPhone X had slightly lower sales than the entire Samsung Galax S9 series combined, which is impressive.
Samsung Galax S9 and Samsung Galax S9 Plus are presented in this study with sales of 14.6 million units, 1.9 million more than the iPhone X, but the latter is only one smartphone model. The sales tracked here cover the months of January, February, and March, the Samsung Galax S9 series being sold for only two weeks during this period, but the estimated sales are much higher than what Samsung admitted.
iPhone X: Very BIG sales compared to GALAXY S9 in Q1 2018
Samsung Galax S9 and Samsung Galax S9 Plus had recognized sales of 10 million units worldwide almost two months after launch, not 2 weeks, so the data from IHS are "inflated" by all means. It is possible for IHS to measure here the number of units of Samsung Galax S9 and Samsung Galax S9 Plus ordered by Samsung partners, so the same thing can be taken into account for iPhone X, or other iPhone models.
Samsung Galax S9 Plus was the phone with higher sales, in the series, but Galaxy Grand Prime Plus was the best placed Samsung model, after iPhone X and iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus reaching the 4th position. By rotal, 5 of the 10 smartphones in the top are iPhones, and Samsung has the rest, Apple and the Koreans being the only ones in the top, Huawei and Vivo disappearing compared to last year's results.
