Apple wants to launch its own video streaming service to compete with Netflix on the market of online movies and series for users around the world.

Apple Competes with Netflix's Own Service

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has very big plans with the division that will produce video content for users around the world, the Americans not intending to offer too much through Apple Music. According to some information that appeared during this weekend, the Apple company wants to launch an audio streaming service competing with Netflix, but at a cheaper price.

Apple would like to compete with Netflix with a service whose price would be below the $11 per month charged in the US by the Netflix company, but it is not known how cheap it could be. Apple already sells Apple Music subscriptions for $10 in the US, so this video streaming service should have a similar price, but will have to be paid for separately.

Apple invests serious amounts of money in creating video content for iDevice/Mac users all over the world, and somehow it has to recover the investments it makes. Asking $9-$10 per month for an audio streaming service isn't such a bad idea, especially since Americans are already used to paying for music and movies.

"One TV executive who has talked to Apple tells me Apple says it intends to sell a standalone subscription to its original video shows, priced below Netflix, whose standard offering costs $11 a month in the US"

Of course, many people expected Apple to release the original content directly in Apple Music, but it seems that this was not going to happen, the plans of those from Cupertino being much different. Even if Apple chooses to charge a separate monthly subscription for the video streaming service, there will certainly be people willing to take advantage of what it has to offer.
