Facebook he finally fulfilled what he had promised for some time, and launched first subscriptions for use within the social network, the American company taking the first step towards removing certain users. Facebook has launched subscriptions for some chat groups within the platform, the company saying that in this way it tries to help the administrators to collect money to continue managing them.
Facebook launched this new subscription system in a trial format with a limited number of groups, and interested people must pay 15, 20, or more dollars per month to be able to access those conversation groups. Facebook allows group administrators to create separate public groups to charge for memberships, but only if they have exclusive content to offer to paying people.
Facebook Launches The First SUBSCRIPTIONS, How Much Do They Cost?
Facebook is basically trying to "take money out of dry stone", and that's because the vast majority of people who use the social network don't want to pay for absolutely anything. In this idea, it will be interesting to see how many people will be willing to pay subscriptions for Facebook since they also see advertisements and have their data used for various unwanted purposes, the whole system being able to attract even more criticism of the American company in 2018.
"We know that admins invest their time and energy to maintain their groups, and some have told us that they would like tools to help them continue to invest in their community and offer more to members. Today, we're piloting subscriptions with a small number of groups to continue to support group admins who lead these communities."
Facebook launched this system without taking any percentage of the money that should go to the administrators, and that should keep subscription prices at a reasonable value, or at least that's how things should be. To be completely honest, I don't think that this subscription system for Facebook is really the best decision that the American company could make, and in Romania I'm sure that very few people would be interested in paying any money for something.
