Apple Music has finally PASSED Spotify

Apple Music has finally succeeded in surpassing Spotify in the number of subscribers, the American streaming service already having great success.

Apple Music BEATS Spotify

Apple Music has a spectacular increase in the number of subscribers for Spotify, the American company managing to convince more people to pay for its services. According to American analysts, Apple Music convinces 3 times more people to pay for monthly subscriptions than Spotify, even managing to complete the streaming service of the Swedes.

Apple Music has 21 million subscribers in the US, 1 million more than Spotify, and this is a real achievement for Apple, 3 years after the launch of its service. This would be about half of the total global user base, in this regard Apple Music still lags behind those of Spotify, but probably not for very long.

Apple Music has finally PASSED Spotify

Globally, Apple Music has a market share of 34%, 4 percentage points higher than in the same period last year, Spotify falling from 65% to 62% in the same period. Apple Music has fewer subscribers, or users of the temporary free version, than Spotify, and this is because the Swedes offer the option to use the service and see ads instead of paying a subscription.

“Apple's higher conversion rate can be attributed in part to iPhone owners having higher disposable income compared to Android device owners. Spotify has more users, but they also have a lot more songs because the service works well on both iOS and Android. Apple Music, while available to Android users, is more or less limited to unique iPhone owners (we estimate there are 780m) … While Apple Music adds fewer users in absolute numbers, relative to their addressable address , 2,5 times more efficient."

Apple Music was not thought of that way, offering 3 months of free use before paying, and the system seems to be working quite well for now, with the number of subscribers continuing to grow. Apple Music achieved an important victory in the US by surpassing those of Spotify, and the same thing could happen in other markets, if Apple would change its promotion strategy.
