Today was published the first list showing the phone manufacturers that will offer compatibility 5G for their products, and as you can see in the image below, we are talking about many well-known brands. We are talking here about a list of manufacturers who have announced that they will offer 5G compatibility for their phones using the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem, so others who will use other types of modems are not present in the list.
You can notice from the very beginning that Huawei and Samsung do not appear in this list, but we know 100% for sure that these companies will release phones compatible with 5G networks, so you don't have to worry about this. The president of Qualcomm, Cristiano Amon, was the one who revealed the list during a conference that took place in Hong Kong, he stated that the first units should be launched sometime in the first part of 2019, although some could be presented in 2018.
5G: Here are the FIRST Manufacturers who will Launch Compatible Phones
ASUS, Fujitsu, HMD Global, HTC, Inseego, LG, Motorola, Netcomm, Netgear, OnePlus, Oppo, Sharp, Sierra Wireless, Sony, Telit, Vivo, WNC and Wingtec are the companies listed by Qualcomm as ready to launch phones 5G in 2019. Xiaomi does not appear in that list, but it will announce the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 this very week and the phone will have 5G, and in the case of Apple there should be no expectations, because the Americans are waiting for Intel to offer 5G in the iPhone.
To bring 5G to phones, Qualcomm announced a new modem called QTM052, which has new, smaller mmWave antennas that can be inserted into phones that have the current design. Quamcomm has invested a lot of time and money in making these modems for future 5G phones, and as you can see, there are many companies interested in using them, so we just have to wait and see what they will offer us .
