Samsung. The largest smartphone manufacturer has recently made a decision that will surely please many fans, and this is because it is meant to ensure the company's future for the next few years. We are talking about the fact that Samsung has taken the decision to start the production of Infinity-O screens, i.e. those that will be used including in the series Samsung GALAXY S10, which is expected to be launched in March 2019, after a presentation at Mobile World Congress 2019.
Samsung. Infinty-O screens will be produced with both OLED and LCD technology, but the latter are easier to produce, as they will be used in mid-range phones, not premium ones. For the Samsung GALAXY S10 series, the Korean company will produce flexible OLED screens with a cutout for the front camera, Samsung avoiding the trend of cutouts, precisely to differentiate itself from other manufacturers on the market.
Samsung. HUGE news for Company Fans
Samsung. The flexible Infinity-O OLED screens will be produced by the Koreans using lasers in their own factories, which will accurately cut the new components, the current production lines being modified specifically to produce them. Samsung has created the production process specifically for these screens, which will also be bent towards the outside of the case, so we are talking about a very complicated process, and that is why production is starting now, in order to have enough screens for the launch of future phones.
Samsung Display has begun mass production of 'Hall-shaped organic light emitting diode (OLED)' which realizes the full screen of a smartphone. Hall design full screen will be applied to Samsung Galaxy S10, which will be launched next year. Samsung Display is producing flexible OLEDs with a Hole In Active Area (HIAA) structure that maximizes the full screen by drilling holes in the panel. This design is produced in the 6th generation line 'A3'. This structure was applied to two lines that produce panels for Samsung Electronics in A3.
Samsung. The Korean company will also have exclusivity regarding the manufacture of this type of OLED screens with the cut in the upper left edge, while other manufacturers will have to wait for the technology to improve. Although Samsung has exclusivity for the production process, unfortunately for the Koreans, Huawei will already release a phone that has the same type of cutout in the screen, even if it's an LCD one, the design matters most in the end.
