RCS & RDS. DIGI 4K has ALREADY BEEN SURPASSED by This TV Channel

RCS & RDS. The launch of DIGI 4K came as a first for Romania, but the television station is already surpassed by another truly amazing launch.

RCS & RDS 4k

RCS & RDS. Just two weeks ago, the telecom group announced a first on the Romanian market, by launching the Digi 4K TV station, the first television station in the country that can transmit images in 4K format. For Romania, the launch of this TV station by RCS & RDS is a real first, which no other television has prepared for customers, and for that the group deserves full praise, because we never know when we will see something similar to other companies.

RCS & RDS. Although Digi 4K comes as a premiere in Romania, in Japan there is already the first 8K TV station in the world, something that few thought would be possible so early, and with so few compatible TVs available. Despite this, the Japanese believe that 8K television must start now, so the television station is already broadcasting for 12 hours every day, and maybe in a few years RCS & RDS will make a similar premiere.

RCS & RDS. DIGI 4K has ALREADY BEEN SURPASSED by This TV Channel

RCS & RDS. Unlike Digi 4K, the Japanese TV station only broadcasts half the time, and that's because there isn't much 8K content available for playback. In contrast, RCS & RDS has enough 4K content to play a varied range of content 24/24, including live broadcasts of various sporting events, so everyone with compatible TVs will be able to enjoy this premiere.

8K is at the moment based around watching at the time of broadcast. We plan to increase the number of chances to watch through rebroadcasts. Content has always been crucial for a new TV technology to take off. The launch of the world's first 8K TV channel is great news, even if it is only in Japan. But realistically, mass market adoption is still a long, long way off.

RCS & RDS. In Romania, the Digi 4K channel is offered free of charge only during the testing period, after which a fee will be imposed for viewing the images transmitted in Romania, in Japan the transmissions will be free. Considering that 8K televisions cost almost 3000 euros, it is understandable why this happens, RCS & RDS taking advantage of the ever-lower prices of 4K televisions to launch in Romania a TV station that will certainly be very popular.
