RCS & RDS. Telekom, Orange, Vodafone recorded a decrease in revenues in Romania in 2018, this is how big the difference is compared to 2017.

RCS & RDS. Telekom, Orange, and Vodafone recorded a decrease in total revenues recorded in Romania in the first six months of 2018, which represents an interesting evolution of the situation compared to 2017. According to those from ANCOM, the general revenues recorded by RCS & RDS, Orange, Vodafone, and Telekom decreased by 5% in S1 2018 compared to S1 2017, reaching 1.7 billion euros, or almost 8 billion lei.

The decrease is several tens of millions of euros in the first six months of 2018 for all 4 major mobile operators, and this can be linked to the 2% decrease in mobile phone service customers. According to ANCOM, the revenues recorded by RCS & RDS, Orange, Telekom, Vodafone from fixed and mobile internet services increased by 3% compared to S1 2017, and represent 31% of the total revenues of telecom operators in Romania.

RCS & RDS. For the revenues generated from mobile phone services, a 6% decrease was recorded for the receipts reported by all 4 operators, but they represent 37% of the total revenues, so the majority. In the case of revenues generated by fixed telephony and TV retransmission, RCS & RDS, Orange, Telekom, and Vodafone generated a total amounting to 11% of market revenues, that is, only a third of the other two types previously mentioned.

Expressed in euros, total revenues were around 1,7 billion euros, down 5%. The revenues generated by the provision of fixed and mobile Internet services increased during this period by 3% and came to represent 31% of the total market revenues. Although down by 6%, revenues generated by the provision of mobile telephony services continue to have the largest share of revenues at 37%. The monthly income per inhabitant obtained from the provision of electronic communication networks and services was 66,3 lei.

A calculation made at the level of all 4 telecom operators shows that the average monthly income per inhabitant obtained from the provision of telecom services is 66.3 LEI, i.e. somewhere around 14 euros. Of this amount, 24.7 LEI represents the income for mobile phone services, 20.6 LEI for fixed and mobile internet, and 7.5 LEI for fixed telephony and television, and this is how you know how much money RCS & RDS, Orange, Telekom and Vodafone make, from each Romanian in 2018.
