RCS & RDS. Orange, Vodafone ATTACK on the Romanian Government

RCS & RDS. Orange, Vodafone are the targets of an attack by the Romanian Government, here is what the state says about the three mobile phone operators in the country.

RCS & RDS profit

RCS & RDS. Orange, Vodafone were before Christmas the target of an attack by the Romanian Government which hides behind it a truth that puts the rationale behind the new taxes for the telecom industry into perspective. As you probably already knew, RCS & RDS and the other two telecom operators will have to pay taxes of 3% for the turnover of each year, after in the last 10 years they have not paid this type of tax for the businesses carried out in Romania.

RCS & RDS. Orange, Vodafone were the target of a disclosure made by the Romanian Government, through its representatives, revealing that the profit tax paid by the companies was surprisingly low last year. More precisely, those from Orange paid last year a profit tax of 7.2 per thousand, those from Vodafone 9 per thousand, and RCS & RDS 5 to 10 million, bringing 0,00005%, or 1577 LEI to the receipts total of 3.3 billion LEI in Romania.

RCS & RDS. Orange, Vodafone ATTACK on the Romanian Government

RCS & RDS. The company controlled by the Digi group was the focus of the Romanian Government's attention because of the very low tax paid for the profit registered in Romania, and this will change once the turnover tax is implemented. The company that Digi controls in Romania will pay a tax of several tens of millions of euros, just like Orange or Vodafone, all this money will reach ANCOM from 2019.

At the same time, for those who are active in this sector, a tax has been established that will be paid to ANCOM - of 3%. This tax also comes as a result of an analyzed behavior that was considered incorrect by the Romanian Government of those who should have paid taxes on profits from this field. And we also have some examples: the two big players on this market (Orange and Vodafone - ed.) paid a profit tax of 7,2 per thousand and 9 per thousand respectively if we refer to the turnover. A third (RCS&RDS / Digi – n. ed.), who I would not like to give his name, but also has a television within it, paid a profit tax of 5 to 10 million, that is, in free translation 0,00005 percent. More precisely, 1.577 lei for a turnover of 3,3 billion lei.

RCS & RDS. Although Orange, Telekom and the Digi company were in the government's attention, Telekom was somewhat overlooked, although for 2017 it has not yet submitted the balance sheets for the recorded receipts. However, ignoring this, the Romanian Government revealed that mobile phone operators operated in the country without paying taxes for turnover and profit, as do all other Romanian companies operating in the country.
