Huawei. This week a director from Europe of the company was arrested by the authorities, marking the second high-profile arrest, after the CFO was arrested in Canada at the beginning of December. This time we are talking about Weijing W, Huawei's sales director for Poland, he was arrested at the request of ABW, the SRI of the Poles, on charges of espionage, together with a photo of ABW's intelligence agent.

Huawei. The arrest of the two people was made on Tuesday, after ABW discovered that both collaborated with the Chinese intelligence services, most likely to transfer confidential information about the Polish government. The former ABW agent left the intelligence service in 2011, amid a corruption scandal regarding government computer networks, but he has not been indicted until now, which makes the whole situation quite unusual.

Huawei has a new director arrested for spying for China

Huawei. During the time he worked at ABW, the former agent had access to the confidential communications between the people who led the Polish state, and for now it is not known what the connection between him and Huawei would be. However, an official of the Polish government says that there are fears about the theft of intellectual property belonging to the state, and Huawei that would collect information for the Chinese government, that is, in other words, pretty much what the US has been saying for almost 1 year.

The Polish intelligence agency, ABW, has arrested a Huawei executive, amid fears he was working with Chinese secret services. Weijing W, sales director for Huawei in Poland was arrested alongside Piotr D, a former ABW officer. The two men were detained on Tuesday, before being arrested on Thursday, after the ABW discovered that they had both acted for the benefit of Chinese special services. We are all concerned about the theft of intellectual property and Chinese telecoms companies that are being used by China for intelligence-gathering purposes.

Huawei. So far the Chinese have not reacted in any way following the arrest of the director in Poland, and the connection between the detention and his sales director in the country, but most likely they will. It's hard to say what involvement the US might have in this whole story, but I don't think the Polish government would pointlessly arrest a former intelligence agent of its own, and a Huawei sales director, so they probably have evidence to suggest that information considered state secrets would have been passed on to the Chinese government.
