Google. HUGE NEW Fine Prepared by the EU

Google. A new huge fine is being prepared by the European Union against the company, this is why it is accused this time by the Europeans.

Google fine

Google. A new huge fine is being prepared by the EU against American company, all being the result of several years of investigations by European officials into the practices of those in Mountain View. More precisely, Google was investigated by the EU because of the Adsense platform through which it delivers ads to various websites around the world, the authorities receiving complaints from competitors who claim that they were blocked incorrectly by the company.

Google. The problem centers on Adsense for Search, or more precisely a component of it, the company allowing websites to create their own search engine in which to display their ads. Google's competitors argue that this should not happen, and that although Google Search can be added in a special form to any website only for local searches, there should also be ads outside of Adsense, not only from this platform.

Google expects a new huge fine from the European Union

Google. Apart from that, the company is also accused of asking its partners to reserve the most prominent spaces for Adsense ads, and if they wanted to display ads from third parties, they would have to get the company's approval. The EU has been investigating for several years whether this practice of those from Google is contrary to European legislation or not, and a decision in this regard will be announced very soon, together with a very large fine, which could be imposed on the company.

Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager is set to announce a penalty targeting the AdSense advertising service in the coming weeks. The EU said in 2016 that Google hindered competition for online ads with its AdSense for Search product which places advertising on websites, including retailers, telecommunications operators and newspapers. The fine is likely to be lower than in the previous cases, because Google has collaborated with the commission and has already introduced changes in AdSense.

Google. So far, the American company has been fined 2.4 billion dollars because of the way it prioritizes certain ads in its search engine, while another fine of 4.3 billion euros targets its policy for Android. Google has collaborated with the EU authorities to make changes in Adsense so that its usage policies are not contrary to European legislation, but it remains to be seen what decision will be announced.
