More precisely, a man ordered mobile phones online under fictitious names, and when he received the parcels he stole the phones, but returned the orders, the online stores receiving back boxes full of plasticine instead of mobile phones, says the Romanian Police.

Romanian police. The crime was not committed only by that man, without help, he having as accomplices two employees of a courier company operating in Targu Mures, who were delivering the respective parcels. Romanian police. According to the authorities, the damage the man caused would be 140.000 LEI, or almost 30.000 euros, so several dozen phones were ordered before everything was stopped. At the moment, the Romanian Police is investigating the three men for committing the crime of continuous fraud, but only the one who placed the online orders for the products was detained yesterday for 24 hours, and will most likely be taken to in front of the judges.

Later, after having come into possession of the parcels, the person in question would have appropriated the ordered goods, which he would have replaced, inserting pieces of plasticine into the said parcels. Following the checks, the police determined that the acts were committed in complicity with two other men, both aged 21, from Mureș County, employees of a courier company in Tîrgu Mureș, through whom the parcels were delivered .

The resolution of this case comes about a week after a video clip appeared on the Internet with a customer who ordered an iPhone from a large retailer in Romania, and a box was just plasticine. The number of defrauded stores is not known, the Romanian Police avoids providing such information, but considering the amount we are talking about, it is certainly about a few large online stores.
