RCS & RDS. Telekom, Vodafone, Orange, SOC announcement from the Parliament

RCS & RDS. Telekom, Vodafone, Orange continue to be "held in check" by the Parliament and the Government, here is what important announcement was made today, and how the customers are affected.

RCS & RDS energy

RCS & RDS. Telekom, Vodafone, Orange have daily new news from the Romanian Parliament regarding GEO 114/2018, which is modified by some, while its provisions are maintained by others. It seems that today Calin Popescu Tariceanu made a series of statements that support those of Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, reiterating that GEO 114/2018 would be amended, but without referring to RCS & RDS, and the others telecommunications companies.

RCS & RDS. The President of the Senate took care to discuss the situation of the banks, but also of the companies that supply electricity, for which it seems that a solution has been found to eliminate the turnover tax. For the time being, absolutely nothing has been said about the possible elimination of the tax for the telecommunications companies, and this even though ANCOM supports RCS & RDS, and the other operators, saying since 2018 that this new tax is contrary to European legislation.

RCS & RDS. Unfortunately, of all the discussions so far, no representative of the Government, or of the Parliament, has said that the tax for telecommunications companies is going to be modified in any way. Of course, this is, perhaps, also a consequence of the fact that the changes in the banking sector, or the energy sector, affect more people and are more important, but RCS & RDS is also a provider of energy services, so it would have to win anyway if something does not change in the telecom sector.

RCS & RDS. The telecommunications group became an electricity supplier almost a year ago, Digi Energy gathering customers from various traditional suppliers to substantially increase its customer base. Just like in the telecom sector, in the energy sector RCS & RDS has competitive prices for the services it offers, so the effects of GEO 1/114 also reduce profit, or even the ability to invest in the expansion of services.

RCS & RDS. By the end of February, we should find out how the saga with GEO 114/2018 will end, and at that time we should also prepare for possible price increases, for many services.
