Windows 10. CRITICAL function LAUNCHED with April 2019 Update

Windows 10. A critical new feature will be launched with the new version of the operating system, here's what Microsoft will offer for customers around the world.

Windows 10 virtualization

Windows 10. An extremely important new function will be ready for release together with the April 2019 Update next month, Microsoft company wanting to offer users something that has been requested for years, and years, for days. More precisely, the April 2019 Update will bring to Windows 10 a new function called "Sandbox", which will allow the safe running of potentially dangerous applications, as happens with virtual machines, for example.

Windows 10. The functionality is similar to that offered by iOS, which limits the functionality of some applications only to their own files, without them being able to affect in any way the files of other applications or those of the operating system. Windows 10 has implemented this function to allow the analysis of certain potentially dangerous applications in this "Sandbox" system, all files created by the applications being restricted only for use by them, and being deleted upon completion of the checks.

Windows 10. This functionality could forget the virtual machines that can be run with VMware, for example, this software also having performance problems in the April 2019 Update. There is more than likely a link between the "Sandbox" function in Windows 10 and the problems with the operation of VMware, and those from Microsoft do not seem so interested in solving the situation at the moment, but this is to be expected, considering that we are talking about a competing software.

Windows Sandbox is set to debut in Windows 19H1, aka version 1903. Windows Sandbox is available on Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise, and can be enabled from the Windows Features dialog in Control Panel. Users can copy an executable from the host, and then paste and run it in Windows Sandbox without exposing the host to anything nasty. Windows 10 19H1 also appears to be having problems with VMware, a rival to Microsoft's own virtualization tool Hyper-V. VMware can't install or update Windows Insider preview builds for some users. Microsoft says Hyper-V is a "viable alternative".

Windows 10. Apart from this functionality, the April 2019 Update is going to bring many improvements to the existing functions within the operating system, but also to improve the general performance. Other interesting changes will also be implemented in this update for Windows 10 by the American company, among them a dark mode for File Explorer and other native applications, plus substantial improvements for running games.

Windows 10. For now, it is not known in what period of April the April 2019 Update will be released, last year's version being released, re-released, and re-released due to problems.
