Huawei. The Chinese company surprised the whole of Europe with an announcement it made just yesterday, the Chinese having a very strong desire to continue to remain in the attention of the people on the continent. Following all the accusations regarding the spying it does for the Chinese government, as well as the partial ban on 5G in Great Britain, Huawei has announced that it will open a special factory there for chips dedicated to its products.

Huawei. The Chinese want to build a factory and a research laboratory in Great Britain, where about 400 employees would work, Cambridge being the area chosen to build this construction, more than likely thanks to the famous university there. On the other hand, in that area there are many other companies specialized in the development of chips for electronic products, so Huawei chose its location very carefully in order to have and where to attract talented engineers.

Huawei. The company said that it wants to produce next-generation chips there for the products it will launch, but also to develop systems for artificial intelligence, increasingly used by it, and not only that. However, the real reason behind Huawei's desire to have research laboratories in Great Britain is based on the motivation to convince the local authorities that it is not interested in placing telecommunications equipment in their GSM networks to spy on them.

Huawei's decision to make chips in Cambridge will create powerful competition for the region's semiconductor talent. The company said it might eventually also develop artificial intelligence software there. The company will integrate resources, provide industry-leading products and services, and cooperate extensively with local high-tech enterprises to build a safer and smarter society with the public security department of the autonomous region.

Huawei. A somewhat similar plan had been announced for Poland a few months ago, but it seems that there things have not materialized in a similar direction, Great Britain having part of the company's attention for now. It is quite normal for things to be like this, because Great Britain produces more money for Huawei than any country in Eastern Europe, or maybe all of them combined, so the investment there is much more logical.

Huawei. Despite all the problems that the Chinese company is going through, it manages to record very good sales for its phones, with a surprising increase in sales in Q1 2019.
