Samsung. The Korean company is the largest smartphone manufacturer globally at the moment, and this will not change soon, on the contrary, it would strengthen its position. According to analysts, it seems that the very big problems it has Huawei at the moment, they will ultimately be beneficial for those from Samsung, but also for Apple, which would record increases in phone sales during 2019.
Samsung. The Chinese from Huawei have already partially reduced the production of phones, and they are forced to sell one of their divisions because they can no longer convince customers that they can offer them safe services, following all the accusations made by the USA. The problems will not disappear "like a miracle", the sales of the Chinese will decrease by up to 50 million units, which would go to a good extent to those from Apple, and including Samsung.
Samsung. How MUCH DOES Huawei GAIN from PROBLEMS
Samsung. Thanks to this new "flow" of customers, the Koreans could increase their sales from 290 million units in 2018, to 300 - 320 million units in 2019. Those from Apple would also register serious increases on sale this year, but in markets outside of China, where Huawei is already losing customers, and Samsung will manage to attract only a part of what the Chinese will lose.
Apple's market share gain in non-Chinese markets is likely to offset its market share loss in the Chinese market, and we expect that annual iPhone shipments could return to around 200 million units. The conservative case is to revise down shipments to 180-200 mn units if there is no OS launch of its own in 2H19 or if this OS isn't able to replace Android+GMS.
Samsung. Huawei's sales could drop by 8-10 million units every month from T2 2019, and these figures will be shared between Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, and other Chinese manufacturers. Without launching a replacement for Android, Huawei could sell a maximum of 200 million smartphones in 2019, but with a replacement, it could substantially exceed this figure, getting closer to Samsung.
Samsung. Regardless of what Huawei will do in the coming months, it is unlikely that it will in any way surpass the Korean company in smartphone sales, but Apple cannot sit quite as quietly.
