Orange, Telekom, Vodafone, today they finally have the official announcement that everyone was waiting for, so that from now on, any kind of uncertainty regarding the future of services in Romania has completely disappeared. More precisely, today ANCOM made the first official announcement regarding the date on which the auction for 5G frequencies will take place in Romania, and based on it, RCS & RDS, plus the rest of the telecom environment, can already prepare.
RCS & RDS. The frequencies of 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 1500 MHz, 2600 MHz and 3400-3800 MHz will be offered at the auction in order to create the future 5G mobile networks in Romania by telecommunications operators. ANCOM proposes that by October 31, it will complete the entire procedure for the auction of these frequencies in Romania, so that RCS & RDS, and the rest of the telecom environment, will have time to make official announcements regarding the launch of services in the country.

RCS & RDS. After the auction itself, operators will also receive user licenses by the end of 2019, so they will be able to launch 5G networks in our country from January 1, if they have the infrastructure ready. Until now, Vodafone has launched a 5G network in Bucharest, but I have heard absolutely nothing from RCS & RDS, as well as from the other 2 companies, but they all announced their intention to offer these services in the country.
We established today the conditions and procedure for granting the radio spectrum in the bands intended to support the implementation of 5G technology. We have proposed that by October 31, we will complete the tender procedure for the allocation of available spectrum resources in the bands designated for the implementation of new generation technology, and that the usage licenses will be granted by the end of the year. The winning operators will be able to use part of the frequency spectrum from January 1, 2020.
RCS & RDS. Until the actual auction for the frequencies of the future 5G networks takes place, ANCOM will go through a bureaucratic procedure designed to prepare all this evolution in Romania. Everything will last for several months, during which both RCS & RDS, as well as the rest of the companies, will have to finalize their strategies for the launch of 5G networks in our country, so we will find out news from them soon.
