RCS & RDS. Vodafone, Telekom, Orange, they have in front of them a series of decisive weeks for Romania, and we are talking about decisions that will affect millions of customers in our country, so the finality is extremely important. More precisely, I am talking about the fact that in the coming weeks a new emergency ordinance should be adopted by the Government of Romania, which will modify some of the provisions of GEO 114/2018, strongly contested by RCS & RDS, and all operators in Romania.

We already know that a few weeks ago a commission from the Chamber of Deputies rejected the changes imposed by GEO 114/2018 for the IT sector, including the telecom sector, so changes must be made for it. Of course, the parliamentary vacation starts next week, and in the meantime nothing will be done, and any kind of ordinance adopted after that, whether it will comply with the requirements of RCS & RDS, or of other telecom operators, will have to be analyzed in the fall of The Romanian parliament.

RCS & RDS. Until now, the Romanian Government has said that it will cancel a provision that imposes fines on operators who have illegal constructions on the lands of third parties, taking into consideration the cancellation of the turnover tax, or the costs of 5G licenses. These last two provisions of GEO 114/2018 are the ones that generated the most complaints from RCS & RDS, including other telecom operators, and so far no agreement seems to have been reached for their modification.
RCS & RDS. Of course, discussions have been held, and will continue to be held between the parties, but because summer is starting, and many people will start going on vacation, it is hard to say to what extent solutions will be found. It is very possible that RCS & RDS, or other telecom operators, will no longer find agreement with the Romanian Government to modify these provisions, and if the executive will be changed, then the changes will be delayed even more.
