Google Chrome. An extremely serious problem affecting millions of people has been revealed for the most popular browser on the planet, and if you use it daily, then you have to be extremely vigilant in what you do.
The extensions installed in the Google Chrome browser, or even in Firefox, secretly steal your private data without you knowing what is happening in reality, and without being able to stop it, unless you actually give up the respective add-ons.
Google Chrome. An analysis made on some of the most popular extensions available for both Google's browser and Firefox, revealed that millions of people have their data stolen every day without knowing it.
After installation, these extensions would work normally for a short period of time, but later they would download through Google Chrome various JavaScript scripts through which they collect all kinds of information during browsing.

Google Chrome. From the "computer identity", to IP addresses, information about the websites accessed, cookies, and many other data end up in the servers of the companies that created the respective extensions for use.
Called DataSpii by security researcher Sam Jadali, the extensions collected data monitored by apps and extensions after a certain period of time. Some extensions started collecting data right away, but some took a few weeks to start, with the average being 24 days.
Google Chrome. The extensions collected information including from the employees of large US companies, such as Apple, Tesla, or even Google, and of course, after it was revealed what they were doing, they were taken out of distribution.
The biggest problem is that extensions of this kind end up being distributed to people who use Google Chrome, Firefox, or even other browsers, and this practice will not stop soon, unfortunately.
