DIGI MOBIL customers affected by a BAD News from RCS & RDS

Digi Mobil has very bad news for customers in Romania, RCS & RDS making an announcement that reveals a problem that affects everyone.

Digi Mobil customers bad news

Digi Mobil was in the center of attention the other day after RCS & RDS announced that it will expand the 4G network in the 900 MHz frequency, but also that it will start using the 2G network to expand coverage, especially in buildings. This second part is extremely important, and that's because even though Digi Mobil boasts of currently covering 99.5% of Romanians, it only applies to the exterior of buildings, not to their interior.

Digi Mobil only now clearly states that the high coverage it displays on its website regarding the 3G network only applies to the outside of buildings, so when people enter buildings, they are left with no signal. I assume that many of you experience this quite often with Digi Mobil, and now you also have an explanation for the problem despite the fact that the operator boasts a very large coverage throughout Romania, which is not that good.

Digi Mobil has 75% coverage for the Romanian population both in buildings and outside them, so there is still a 24 percent difference compared to 3G, which does not enjoy the same quality of services inside buildings. It is very possible that most of these customers of Digi Mobil live outside the cities, where in general the operators do not bother to invest because the customers do not even generate that much profit.

Digi Mobil has made massive investments in Romania in recent years, but it seems that it is cheaper to offer 2G coverage in buildings than 3G, and this also means a substantial reduction in mobile internet speeds. Practically in 2G you can't use mobile internet for anything else, compared to 3G, which is weak anyway, but at least you can surf the internet somewhat, and you can use various applications, the alternative here for Digi Mobil is VoWiFi.

Digi Mobil is the smallest telecommunications operator in Romania for now, and if it does not buy Telekom, then it will create its own 2G infrastructure for better coverage in buildings as well.
