Digi | RCS & RDS, Metro Cash & Carry Romania and Metro Systems Romania have announced a new partnership for digital transformation:
- "The most important company at the national level in the field of wholesale trade, Metro Cash & Carry Romania, and Metro Systems Romania, Metro Group's internal supplier for IT solutions, benefit, since September, from convergent electronic communications services offered by Digi | RCS & RDS.
- The connectivity and digital transformation partnership covers customized solutions for data communications services, fixed telephony services and mobile telephony and data services.
Metro Cash & Carry Romania, Metro Systems Romania and Digi | In September, RCS & RDS started a collaboration in the field of mobile and fixed electronic communications, covering an extensive range of personalized services.
The project, managed by the Digi Business team, involves the delivery of fixed data communications services (VPN MPLS), fixed telephony services, audio conferencing services, mobile telephony services and mobile data, for a fleet of approximately 2.000 users within the two companies.
Digi | RCS & RDS proposed to the two partners state-of-the-art solutions in the field of data communications, which would support their technical needs, both for the network of stores and warehouses, as well as for the two main offices in Bucharest. The services are provided through a fixed infrastructure based on optical fiber, implemented by the operator in most of the partners' locations. For a small part of the network, microwave radio solutions were used.
In the headquarters of the partners, Digi | RCS & RDS has adopted solutions that ensure optimal redundancy for fixed data and telephony services. Also, high-performance routers were installed in these locations, which offer users of the two companies redundancy at the level of the Digi network | RCS & RDS. The adopted technology currently allows reaching speeds of up to 10 Gbps in central offices, and indoor coverage for mobile services has been significantly improved. Another component of the project consisted in the installation of equipment and solutions for the optimization of fixed data and voice services.
