The Romanian Police is DISAPPEARING, Here's What Will Take Its Place in the Near Future

The Romanian police would disappear from Romania, this is the statement made by Marcel Vela, the new minister of the Ministry of Interior, during a meeting with the police unions.

The Romanian police renamed the national police

Romanian police is going to disappear, at least with the name, and this because the new minister of the MAI wants to rename the institution meant to protect citizens, following, as it were, the French model, from this point of view. More precisely, the Romanian Police could be renamed in National Police by those from the MAI, and that's because the biggest problem the institution has now is image, not with resources, corruption, and many, many others.

The Romanian Police is somewhat confused with the Local Police, at least for Minister Marcel Vela, so he wants to use the name National Police for the institution, although this will not bring any practical change, only rebranding expenses. The Romanian Police would need investments to solve many of the problems that the institution has, but instead the money will be spent to rename it the National Police, if the decision is adopted.

The Romanian Police could be renamed the National Police

For now, the Romanian Police has all this renaming presented only at the declarative level, and that's because the new minister has not yet made a final decision, and anyway it won't be entirely his. Prime Minister Ludovic Orban will more than likely have to sign the decree renaming the Romanian Police into the National Police, and this is because it is a very complex and expensive process, therefore probably a long one.

"I want the rebranding of the National Police, which is now called the Romanian Police. I want to call it the National Police, so as not to enter, on the same level, into competition or conflict with the Local Police. All respect to the Local Police, I was mayor for 12 years, I built the local police in the sense that I found them public guards, after that community police and local police - good guys. I think we need to clarify a clear demarcation between the Local Police and the Romanian Police, we call it the National Police. That's about rebranding."

The Romanian Police, transformed into the National Police, will not be better than it is now, it will not hunt down fewer drivers with phones in hand, or without a belt, it will not solve more cases, but it could have a completely new name. It is true that many people confuse the agents from the Romanian Police with those from the Local Police, but that is because they are dressed the same, in a proportion of 90%, although they have much different attributions, but the visual perception matters more.

The Romanian Police will not turn into the National Police very soon because the Romanian Government has other serious problems that it must focus on at the moment, so things will be analyzed at length.
