Digi Mobil is the fourth largest mobile operator in Romania at the moment, with several million customers, but also an infrastructure that extends throughout the country. Unfortunately, those at Digi Mobil still do not have the infrastructure that all customers want and services as good as in the case of other mobile operators, but extremely good rumors came a few months ago for many of the company's customers.
Digi Mobil was announced as one of the telecommunications operators interested in buying the infrastructure of Telekom's fixed services, which would extend throughout the country, something that would bring great benefits to RCS & RDS. Unfortunately, until now the people from Digi Mobil do not seem to have made great advances in the negotiations they are having with the people from Telekom to buy the mobile services division, which of course is a rather big problem.
Digi Mobil: News for ALL Customers, the PROBLEM from Romania
Digi Mobil has not had any meeting with the Romanian Government, until now, to discuss the intention to buy the fixed services division, and this even though those from Orange and Telekom have discussed with the Prime Minister, Ludovic Orban. Considering this situation, it is quite likely that Digi Mobil does not yet have a definitive plan to buy Telekom, and it is very possible that this will not happen as quickly as people would like.
Digi Mobil does not want the entire mobile division of those from Telekom, but only the mobile telephony infrastructure, and the German group does not really want to sell in pieces what it currently owns in the country. This means that Digi Mobil has quite a small chance of buying the mobile infrastructure, and from this we can draw the conclusion that it will not have the ability to substantially improve its own infrastructure, implicitly the services it offers.
Digi Mobil has the ability to buy the entire mobile division of Telekom, but we don't know why it doesn't do it yet, so it remains to be seen what decisions RSC & RDS will make in the coming months.
