iPhone 12 will be launched this year with integrated 5G connectivity, but unfortunately Apple will do things the way they want, leaving customers without exactly what they want most, performance and compatibility. According to new information that appeared today, those from Apple will offer support for 5G mmWave networks, the ones with the highest speeds, only in a few countries where they will launch the iPhone 12, the rest will have to wait for the 2021 models.
iPhone 12 would have support for 5G mmWave networks only in the US, Canada, Japan, South Korea and Great Britain, while in others compatibility would be disabled by Apple. In the rest of the countries, support will be offered for 5G networks below 6 GHz, which offer worse transfer speeds, and in countries where 5G networks do not exist, or have little coverage, 5G support will be completely disabled by Apple.

iPhone 12 will have this production decision imposed by Apple so that production prices are lower for models where 5G mmWave support is not offered, but all customers will pay the same price. So Apple will ask for the same money on iPhone 12 phones that have 5G mmWave support, or don't have this support at all, and of course many have already gotten used to this hunger for profit from Apple, which shamelessly mocks customers.
"Kuo said iPhone models with mmWave would be available in five markets, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, and the United Kingdom, adding that Apple may disable 5G functionality in countries that do not offer 5G service or have a shallow 5G penetration rate to reduce production costs."
iPhone 12 will have integrated 5G support in all the models that will be launched in 2020, and the series will be launched in September of this year, as everyone already expected, so there will be no surprises here. Apple will use a Qualdomm modem for 5G support in the iPhone 12 series, but of course limiting compatibility to the type of network in a country at the time of launch is a stupid decision, and I hope that the limitation is not a hardware one.
iPhone 12 will be presented in September 2020 and released 9-10 days after the presentation, as happens every year with each new series of phones from the Apple company.
