Romanian police it is going to undergo a series of very important changes, or at least that is what a document prepared by the Government suggests, in which the prepared changes are described. It seems that Minister Marcel Vela would like the Romanian Police to be combined with the Gendarmerie, and the result would be a national institution much better organized than it is at the moment, but which would also have different attributions in the city or in the countryside.
Romanian police would absorb the gendarmerie in the cities, the idea being taken over from other countries in the European Union, 19 member states making this reform for these institutions. Based on these changes, the Romanian Police would send the gendarmes to ensure public order, but also in various ongoing investigations, and they would replace the personnel shortages that exist at the moment in certain situations.
