Telekom: Caught again with a LIE, Decision Taken by CNA

Telekom was caught lying again by the CNA, here is the decision taken by the Romanian authorities regarding an advertisement made by the operator.

Telekom is again in the sights of the CNA after she was caught and lying to her customers with an advertisement that is a redone version of one that was banned by the authorities a few months ago. Then Telekom was forced by CNA to remove from broadcasting an advertisement for the Smart WiFi campaign, that is, the promotion of a router for homes that offered internet anywhere in the house without cables for only 24 LEI per month, although the reality is different.

Telekom he promoted his magic router as being available at the price of 24 LEI per month, when in reality it costs 699 LEI, and the people from CNA did not really agree with this way of promotion. Then the CNA forbade those from Telekom to promote their Smart WiFi service in this way, and the ad was modified, but now the one above has appeared, which presents things in the same deceptive way, i.e. a magic router without cables which offers you internet anywhere, for only 24 LEI.

Telekom: Caught again with a LIE, Decision Taken by CNA

Telekom mentions somewhere in the spot, at one point, that the router costs 699 LEI, but the information is written so small that it is difficult to see even on a large monitor, on televisions and phones being impossible. Considering that the situation is repeated, the people from CNA took the decision again that Telekom should remove its advertisement from broadcasting and redo it so that it respects the Romanian legislation, and the customers are correctly informed about the prices.

"Also, the members of the Council decided to issue a decision to enter into legality regarding some advertising spots related to the promotion campaign for the company "Telekom", spots that violated the provisions of art. 94 lit. a) and those of art. 93 para. 1) from the Audiovisual Code. According to the monitoring report, they were broadcast on television stations."

Telekom will modify the video clip again, without discussion, but we are talking about a second attempt to promote Smart WiFi as something that in reality is not, and more than likely will never be. The idea of having a router without cables in the house, and having wireless internet everywhere is great, only that Smart WiFi costs 699 LEI at Telekom, and the router cannot be taken by the customer anywhere, as it is said in the video of promotion of the service.

Telekom he probably made Smart WiFi with good intentions, but unfortunately he promotes it quite poorly, and that's because the router itself is much more expensive than it seems at first glance.
