Spotify announced that it has reached a record number of users worldwide at the moment, with the Swedish company having the largest video-on-demand streaming platform on the entire planet at the beginning of 2020.

Spotify announced that it has 124 million subscribers to its music streaming platform, a figure more than double that recorded by Apple Music at the moment, but that is not necessarily a surprise.

Spotify added 10 million subscribers only in Q4 2019 to its list of people who pay for the service, this being the biggest quarterly increase recorded by the Swedish company in all its years of existence.

Spotify has 271 million users of the on-demand video streaming platform, the difference of 147 million users being given by those who use the service for free and listen to ads during songs.

“We ended the year with 124 million Premium Subscribers globally, up 29% S/Y, ahead of forecast. This was the biggest net added quarter we've ever experienced, and the fastest we've added anything like 10 million subscribers. During Q3 we extended our 'XNUMX months on us' offer to new family plan subscribers, in addition to our previous individual and student offers."

Spotify ended an extremely good year 2019, and for 2020 the company announces that it will make even more investments to buy even better quality content, so we can expect a continued increase in the number of subscribers.
