RCS & RDS: The HARD hit from Telekom will be a BIG PROBLEM

RCS & RDS received a very hard blow from Telekom at the beginning of February, and it will be a big problem for the telecom group in 2020.

RCS & RDS Hit Telekom

RCS & RDS suffered a very hard blow yesterday in Romania from Telekom, the competition between the two telecommunications operators becoming much more serious, and this is great news for all customers. Telekom announced yesterday a new offer for porting in Romania, rivaling in all respects what RCS & RDS has for those interested in joining the Digi Mobil network, but with a very big advantage that is difficult to recover in 2020.

RCS & RDS was the leader in the porting segment for mobile and fixed telephony in Romania, those from Telekom occupying the second position in Romania, but this situation could change radically in 2020. RCS & RDS was successful thanks to its completely unlimited subscription for only 5 euros, on Black Friday with a 50% discount for 12 months, but Telekom now comes with an equally competitive offer, but with better quality services for customers.

RCS & RDS: The HARD hit from Telekom will be a BIG PROBLEM

RCS & RDS has the 5 euro subscription with unlimited everything attacked by a 6 euro subscription from Telekom, which also has unlimited everything, but is offered with a 50% discount in the first 12 months, so it will cost only 3 euros. The biggest problem for those from RCS & RDS is that the mobile internet they offer for customers is weaker than that from Telekom, and the coverage, especially inside buildings, is much better than in the case of Digi Mobil.

RCS & RDS in 2019 it had the first place for porting made in Romania, attracting 50% more customers to the network than those from Telekom, but in 2020 the distance between the companies could be much smaller. Telekom does not have the best services in Romania, there are huge problems on the mobile telephony side, but even so, their quality is superior to that offered by RCS & RDS, and this is practically the problem that Digi will face soon.

RCS & RDS it should come with an offer at least as good as that of Telekom, but it is hard to say if Digi can offer unlimited subscriptions for only 2.5 euros for a year, as the German group does, for 3 euros.
