UBER: New BIG PROBLEMS in Romania, WHY ARE COMPLAINTS ARISING

UBER has new big problems in Romania, this is why complaints started to appear again about the very popular alternative transport platform.

UBER protest

UBER has new problems in Romania, the ridesharing platform starting 2020 quite well, but things are getting complicated again for it, here's what happened today, and what impact it could have. UBER is the target of a new protest, no less than 300 taxi drivers blocking the center of Iasi today to complain that the drivers of the ridesharing platform are not checked by the authorities to see if they comply with the new law that entered into force on February 1.

UBER, like Bolt, Clever, Yango, must have drivers who comply with a series of legal regulations imposed by the Romanian Government, so that they can carry out their activity in tandem with taxi drivers. Well, those in Iasi are angry that the authorities do not check the UBER drivers who go out into traffic, and that they steal their customers, although they have no clear proof of the fact that those drivers comply, or not, with the new legislation imposed in Romania from February 1.

UBER: New BIG PROBLEMS in Romania, WHY ARE COMPLAINTS ARISING

UBER had the drivers checked in Bucharest after February 1, just like the other ridesharing platforms, the police giving a series of fines, withholding registration certificates, all to scare those who do not respect the law. It is not known if something similar happened in Iasi, but the taxi drivers are very angry because of the fact that UBER, like other ridesharing platforms, steals their customers, something that is actually complained about by taxi drivers all over the country.

"If from 2015 until February 1, 20120 all the state institutions said that they did not have a legal framework to sanction this alternative transport, today we have this Ordinance 49, article 21, which clearly says that the activity of alternative transport is carried out under the conditions of law 38. That is, any transport person, whether self-employed, AF, PF or SRL, must have a fiscal device, fiscal cash register on board the car. What does this mean? That the legislator has recognized that from 2015 until now those who have done alternative transport have done tax evasion."

UBER managed to attract a lot of taxi drivers thanks to the fact that it offers a different service, more decent, easier to pay, without requests for tips, or other problems, but the cars are generally the same old. The taxi drivers did not understand that the problem is not UBER, but the way they behave, so they continue to protest, although the activity of alternative transport was regulated in Romania by law by the Government of the country.

UBER he has not declared anything for the time being regarding the taxi drivers' protest in Iasi, so it remains to be seen if he will say anything, or if he will let things unfold by themselves.
