Coronavirus: Warning from the Orthodox Church in Romania

Coronavirus, the Orthodox Church in Romania

Coronavirus brought, not surprisingly, a warning from the Romanian Orthodox Church for believers who during this period want to visit one of the places of worship, the warning being made to help them prevent a possible infection.

Coronavirus has already infected a Romanian from the territory of Romania, and in the context in which there are dozens of other people in quarantine, and others are tested daily, the Romanian Orthodox Church warns the faithful to be very careful when visiting places of worship.

Romanian Orthodox Church asks any person who has symptoms of the flu, or the Coronavirus, to avoid crowded places and church spaces in order not to risk making other healthy people sick, recommending listening to services on Radio Trinitas and Trinitas TV.

Coronavirus forces the Romanian Orthodox Church to even issue a warning not to kiss the icons in the places of worship, only by those who fear that they may get sick from the care, or the virus from China, the icons being regularly sanitized anyway.

"Persons who show flu symptoms of any kind and the symptoms of the coronavirus, described by the medical authorities, are advised to avoid crowded places on those days, including the church space, in order not to expose others to a possible illness. We mention that in the Church Holy Communion is always prepared and administered under conditions of total hygiene, and the icons are frequently sanitized. Those who are afraid during this period of illness can temporarily avoid kissing the icons in the church, but they can kiss the icons in their own home."

Coronavirus brings a rather surprising warning from the Romanian Orthodox Church, making, if I'm not mistaken, for the first time a recommendation not to touch icons in places of worship by people who fear a possible infection.
