CEC Bank comes with a new joy for its clients in Romania, the bank taking the decision to offer something that was supposed to be offered for a very long time, but which finally arrived only now. More precisely, CEC Bank decided to offer Romanian customers the possibility to authenticate themselves biometrically to authorize online payments, instead of entering a code received via SMS, which comes as an extremely good surprise for its customers.
CEC Bank is, if I'm not mistaken, the first bank from which we see such a system, or at least one of the very few that replaces the SMS code for payment authorization with biometric authorization. Considering that that SMS code is also sent to the phone from which, theoretically, the online payment is made, the user's life is simplified by the possibility of using the fingerprint or facial recognition to complete an online payment.
