DIGI Romania took in the second part of 2019 a very important decision that is starting to see its fruits very seriously in this period, even if in the last months we have been in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic. More precisely, those from DIGI Romania would have negotiated a possible acquisition of the mobile services division of those from Telekom last year, but because the German group did not want to sell its division without also getting rid of its customers, the transaction between the two it would not have been completed.
DIGI Romania however, he made a very important decision then, to build his own 2G network in Romania to cover areas where 3G and 4G do not offer sufficient coverage. More than that, DIGI Romania needed something that would give it coverage inside the buildings, and the 2G network is perfect for that, as it can bring the possibility to replace the 3G and 4G networks on the part of making phone calls, but not and on the internet side.
DIGI Romania: MAJOR Decision that Helps Many Customers
DIGI Romania, as you can see above, managed from August 2019, and until May 2020, to cover a very large part of Romania with its 2G network, the investments being made very quickly to expand it. It is not known how much money DIGI Romania invested to make this network, but its creation makes quite clear the distance from the idea of buying the mobile services division of Telekom, because there is no need for it now.
DIGI Romania it needed that infrastructure to cover its own, but it didn't need customers either, and now that it has completed its infrastructure with the 2G network, it has almost everything it needs.
