Ministry of Health: Change regarding the obligation to wear a mask

The Ministry of Health exceptions to wearing a mask

Before publication in the Official Gazette, the Ministry of Health modified the rules regarding the wearing of masks by Romanian citizens, introducing some very important exceptions that no longer oblige people to wear a mask under certain conditions.

The Ministry of Health thus leaves to the attitude of some people the decision to wear, or not, a mask when they are in one of the situations below, and of course the fine is not applied unless these provisions are closely followed.

"Depending on the risk assessment, carried out by the occupational medicine doctor of the unit, there may be some exceptions, as follows:

  • the employee is alone in the office
  • the person suffers from diseases that affect the oxygenation capacity;
  • the person performs intense physical activities and/or in demanding working conditions (high temperatures, high humidity, etc.);
  • TV presenters and their guests, provided that the distance of 3 meters between people is respected;
  • public speakers on the condition of respecting the distance of 3 meters between them and other people, only if there are no more than 16 people in the premises;
  • children under the age of 5."
