Bucharest, June 12, 2020 – Innovation and creativity meet this year's winter holiday season. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has revealed new details about the PlayStation®5, including the design of the new generation of consoles and an extensive range of new games that will be available on the platform. In a livestream watched by millions of fans around the world, SIE unveiled the PS5™ hardware for the first time, with a bold look and two-tone design, marking a radical change from previous generations of PlayStation consoles. The PS5 will be available in two variants: a standard model containing an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive, and a digital model without a disc drive, giving gamers unprecedented choice at launch.
The event also gave fans the opportunity to see for the first time the new games that will define the future of gaming on PlayStation 5. The most talented developers in the world highlighted the potential of the hardware, making dozens of titles, many of which will released as PS5 exclusive games. Thus, video game enthusiasts will have even richer experiences that will give them the opportunity to explore the virtual worlds of their favorite titles at a level of deeper detail than ever before.

One of the most popular series of all time, Grand Theft Auto, will be available on PS5 thanks to the strong partnership between SIE and Rockstar Games. Enhanced and expanded versions of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online will be released for PS5 in the second half of 2021. With a number of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance updates, GTAV & GTA Online will be put superlative value of the PS5 hardware and its new features, which will make the game more beautiful and performant than ever. In addition, a new version of the Grand Theft Auto Online title will be available to PS5 owners for free for the first three months after the game's release. Afterwards, it will remain permanently in the users' portfolio, and through a PlayStation Plus subscription, they will be able to play GTA Online as much as they want. Also, starting today, all owners of GTAV for PS4 will receive 1.000.000 GTA$ every month until the dedicated PS5 version is released in 2021.
SIE Worldwide Studios and industry-leading publishers have unveiled a series of PS5 titles that promise unique experiences of unprecedented depth. PlayStation Studios exclusive games include Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales (Insomniac Games), Gran Turismo 7 (Digital Polyphony) and Horizon forbidden west (Guerrilla Games).
The list of titles offered by third-party publishers includes blockbuster franchises such as NBA 2K21 (2K, Visual Concepts) and Resident Evil ™ Village (Capcom), but also new games exclusive to the console segment, ca DEATHLOOP™ (Bethesda) and Project athia* (Square Enix/Luminous Productions). New titles from independent developers such as Stray (Annapurna/ Blue Twelve Studio) and bugsnax (Young Horses), have proven the diversity of content that will be included on the new platform.
SIE also announced a number of new PS5 accessories for an enhanced gaming experience:
- PULSE 3D™ wireless headset – with 3D audio support and dual noise-cancelling microphones;
- HD camera – with dual 1080p lenses for gamers to record more easily, also keeping the epic moments of the gaming experience;
- Media Remote – a remote control with a built-in microphone to easily navigate through your favorite movies and streaming services;
- DualSense™ Charging Station – for easy charging of two DualSense™ wireless controllers simultaneously.
