The Government of Romania, through CERT-RO, offers a series of advice for Romanians who, following the Corona virus pandemic, have come to work more from home, and more from a computer or mobile terminal, and now they must also think about data security.

The Romanian government is trying to help Romanians keep their data safe at a time when there are more and more computer attacks, so you must think seriously about these tips and listen to them to have your data protected.

"One of the methods by which you can defend yourself effectively against existing threats in the online environment is to apply a security ROUTINE. Here are some actions that the CERT-RO team recommends you include in this periodic activity:

Update the software used on your devices! Enable auto-update where you feel comfortable doing so, in case you don't have the time.

Periodically perform a backup (backup) of essential data on a storage medium that you can later disconnect from the device.

Use complex, unique passwords and two-step authentication (2FA) for online accounts! If you need to manage a large number of such access data, we recommend using a password manager.

Always scan external media connected to the device with a security solution (antivirus).

Check the privacy and security settings of your online accounts regularly! Keep in mind that public activity can be monitored by attackers, so you should be vigilant about the information you post on social media.”
