Coronavirus Romania New Cases Cured August 29

The coronavirus continues to generate new problems for Romanians all over the country, and this is because the number of infections remains surprisingly high, despite all the authorities' estimates regarding a decrease, even moderate, in the number of infections.

The number of people who died due to the new Coronavirus is also increasing, as is the number of people hospitalized in intensive care, all because of the very large number of infections that our country is facing in this very delicate period.

On the other hand, from September 1 it will be almost completely back to normal after the restaurants, theaters, cinemas, and not only, are to be reopened, the authorities saying that the number of cases of Coronavirus will increase in September and October because of this , local elections, and the resumption of school.

"Until today, August 29, on the territory of Romania, 85.833 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

37.388 patients were declared cured and 10.618 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.365 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

To date, 3.539 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

Between 28.08.2020 (10:00) - 29.08.2020 (10:00) 32 deaths (25 men and 7 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș were recorded , Bacau, Bihor, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Dolj, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Maramureș, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 4 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 9 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 12 deaths in the over 80 category.

30 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had comorbidities, one deceased patient had no comorbidities, and one deceased patient had no comorbidities reported to date.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.225. Of these, 490 are hospitalized at ATI. 

Until this date, at the national level, 1.780.963 tests have been processed. Of these, 24.043 were performed in the last 24 hours, 13.352 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 10.691 on request.

On the territory of Romania, 8.982 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.748 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 32.968 people are in home quarantine, and 72 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 1.113 calls were made to the single emergency number 112 and 590 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 730 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 152.600 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 3 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.

The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 6.589 Romanian citizens have been confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.898 in Italy, 1253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2.935 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain , 28 in Holland, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden, Republic of Congo, Hungary and Qatar. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
