Romanian Police: record capture of captagon pills and hashish

The Romanian Police has been very busy recently and has presented many of its achievements in the field of drug trafficking, but now we are talking about a record with a seizure of captagon pills and hashish worth 80 million euros, a huge amount for our area in Europe.

"Following an operation carried out by the police of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime - Anti-Drug Service and the Service for Combating Organized Crime Porturi Maritime, together with DIICOT - Central Structure, started in August 2020, drugs worth 80.000.000 were discovered euro.

On August 30, a ship carrying two containers, with 40 tons of non-food products, sent from the Port of Latakia, Syria and which would have transited Turkey, arrived in Constanța Port.

Following a control carried out based on the orders issued by the case prosecutor, 1.480 kg were discovered, concealed, in one of the two containers. of hashish and 751 kg. of captagon pills (4.024.250 captagon pills).

The market value of the drugs is approximately 80.000.000 euros.

The drugs would have been concealed among the legal goods, so as to avoid their discovery through specific technical means of detecting these substances.

The cover product was organic soap with a very high density, which was meant to mask the drugs that were between the cardboard boxes containing the soap.

Captagon type tablets usually have a high content of amphetamine.

The capture represents the largest capture of captagon pills and hashish in the history of the structures to combat drug trafficking within the Romanian Police.

The activities carried out during the operation were carried out in cooperation with the US DEA

Currently, investigations are being carried out regarding several people, Romanian citizens and foreigners, in order to establish the involvement in the organization of this drug transport.
