The Romanian Police made a new important announcement today, after in Constanta the police managed to confiscate over 60.000 euros, in banknotes of various denominations, which they believe to be fake, more details are presented below.

"Following a search carried out in Constanța county, the policemen recovered over 60.000 euros likely to be counterfeited.

Policemen of the Constanța Organized Crime Brigade and prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Constanța Court conducted, on September 2, 2020, a house search in the municipality of Constanța.

From the investigations, there were indications that, between June and August of this year, two men, aged 52 and 39 respectively, would have placed several counterfeit euro banknotes in the town of Lumina.

Following the home search, the policemen found 175 banknotes likely to be counterfeited (totaling 61.400 euros, in 200 and 500 euro notes), 2.350 euros, 14.500 lei, a car and 3 mobile phones.

The case prosecutor ordered the measure of detention for 24 hours against them, following that, today, they will be presented to the court, with a proposal for preventive arrest."
