The Coronavirus pandemic has entered a new phase in Romania, that of a "toothy plateau", as expressed by the Minister of Health, Nelu Tataru, which means we are still in a situation where we have many daily cases, only that the values fluctuate from one day to the next, without falling below the threshold of 1000 for a constant period.
The number of people hospitalized in intensive care remains at a high level, while the number of deaths is still high, and this in the conditions where the protective measures against the Coronavirus must be strictly observed in order for the situation to return to some normality as soon as possible.
The authorities in Romania are preparing for a new increase in the number of cases of Coronavirus in Romania due to the reopening of restaurants, plus other activities, the resumption of school, but also the organization of local elections on September 27 of this year.
"Until today, September 10, on the territory of Romania, 99.684 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
41.010 patients were declared cured and 12.568 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection (*figures for cured and asymptomatic discharged patients are being updated due to technical changes to the data centralization application).
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.380 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

To date, 4.065 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
Between 09.09.2020 (10:00) and 10.09.2020 (10:00) 47 deaths (25 men and 22 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Arad, Bacău, were recorded .
Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 30-39 years, 1 death in the age category 40-49 years, 6 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 15 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 15 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 9 deaths in the over 80 age category.
45 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and 2 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.133. Of these, 459 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 2.015.772 tests have been processed. Of these, 25.185 were performed in the last 24 hours, 14.940 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 10.245 on request.
On the territory of Romania, 10.370 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 5.940 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 35.488 people are in home quarantine, and 12 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 1.016 calls were made to the single emergency number 112 and 592 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 724 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 125.790 lei.
Also, yesterday, through the competent structures of the Police, a crime was detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
