The coronavirus continues to generate a lot of infections in Romania, and today's local elections will be a new turning point in the entire fight against the coronavirus pandemic, people having to respect social distancing measures to ensure protection against the virus.
We continue to have more and more deaths and people hospitalized in intensive care, as we have seen over time, and unfortunately the situation continues to be very serious because things are going towards an increase in the daily number of cases, not towards a decrease in them.
Although the Minister of Health expects that in the second half of October the number of new cases of infection with the new Coronavirus will decrease, it is unlikely that this will happen since people will spend more time in closed spaces, where the risk of infection is exponential bigger.
"Until today, September 27, on the territory of Romania, 122.673 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
98.607 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.438 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. To date, 4.718 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
Between 26.09.2020 (10:00) - 27.09.2020 (10:00) 31 deaths (21 men and 10 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Bacău, Bihor, were recorded , Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Maramureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Teleorman, Timiș, Vaslui and Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 40-49 years, 2 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 11 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 7 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 10 deaths in the over 80 category.
All registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.408. Of these, 535 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 2.366.178 tests have been processed. Of these, 13.528 were performed in the last 24 hours, 7.909 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 5.619 on request.
On the territory of Romania, 10.058 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 7.200 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 24.602 people are in home quarantine, and 179 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 961 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 279 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 59.290 lei.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures to verify the reported aspects."
