COVID-19 Romania: The Worrying Announcement of Alexandru Rafila

COVID-19 Romania cases increase

Considering that the COVID-19 pandemic is entering a new stage in Romania, today we have a worrying announcement from Alexandru Rafila, the representative of our country at the WHO, saying that one of the scenarios that the authorities are considering is "the stabilization ” new cases at 2700 per day.

In Romania this week there were 2 records of new cases, the maximum at 2300, so reaching 2700 is something easy, but there is a scenario in which the number of cases would increase even more, which would represent a much bigger problem big for the whole country, and the medical system.

"I have a hope rather of my own, rather than based on sufficiently concrete elements, that this increase of 2.000, 2.300 cases practically represents the effect of the reopening of schools, not because the schools themselves are affected, but because with the opening of the school a lots of other activities started to get more intense.

I hope it's a wave that will end at some point. If it doesn't happen like that, then we could see an increase that will cause us problems. And then I would take two scenarios into consideration. If the situation stabilizes, say around 2.500, 2.700 cases, or, if the situation does not stabilize and things continue to go badly in the coming weeks." A declared Alexandru Rafila at DIGI 24.
